Overview

Relying on an effective multicloud, multiedge hybrid approach is more important than ever. Azure focuses on supporting the hybrid needs of customers with hybrid integration across Azure products.

In Microsoft’s cloud platforms, Azure Arc is the extension. Azure Arc extends the same controls and processes you use to govern your Azure cloud to other public and private clouds and the edge. It’s these cloud controls that enable a unified operations approach to consistent governance and operations management processes across heterogeneous on-premises, multicloud, and edge environments.

During this course you will explore the management of multiple cloud and on-premises solutions with Azure Arc.

Audience
Profile

This course is aimed at IT professionals and system administrators that manage on traditional on premises environments and want to leverage hybrid management tools including Azure Arc.

Course
Outline

Module 1 – Introduction to Azure Arc

In this module, you’ll be able to describe Azure Arc enabled servers. You’ll also be able to describe Azure Arc enabled Kubernetes. In this module, you will:

  • Describe Azure Arc enabled servers.
  • Understand Azure Arc enabled Kubernetes.

Module 2 – Introduction to Azure Arc enabled servers

This module introduces you to Azure Arc enabled servers and describes its characteristics, capabilities, and use cases. In this module, you will:

  • What are the characteristics of Azure Arc enabled servers?
  • What are the core capabilities of Azure Arc enabled servers?
  • How can you simplify management and maintenance of Azure Arc enabled servers?

Module 3 – Plan and deploy Azure Arc-enabled servers at scale

Azure Arc promises to bridge the gap between on-premises and cloud environments. Azure Arc-enabled servers extends the consistent security, observability, and governance of the Azure platform to non-Azure machines. In this module, you will learn about planning and securely deploying Azure Arc-enabled servers at scale. In this module, you will:

  • Understand Azure Arc’s built-in and supplemental security functions
  • Evaluate different deployment and testing channels for Azure Arc-enabled servers
  • Apply best practices for Azure Arc-enabled servers architecture and management

Module 4 – Integrate Azure Arc and Azure Stack HCI

In this module, you will learn the fundamentals of Azure Arc and how is it used to bring new capabilities to the management and monitoring of your Azure Stack HCI clusters at scale. In this module, you will:

  • Get an overview of Azure Arc, its components, and use cases
  • Learn the principles of integration of Azure Arc and Azure Stack HCI
  • Describe the benefits of Azure Arc enabled Azure Stack HCI clusters

Module 5 – Introduction to Azure Arc enabled Kubernetes

In this module, you will learn how Azure Arc enabled Kubernetes clusters can help customers optimize and simplify their operations. In this module, you will:

  • Describe Kubernetes, Azure Arc, and Azure Arc-enabled Kubernetes.
  • Connect Kubernetes clusters to Azure Arc.
  • Integrate Azure Arc enabled Kubernetes cluster with Azure services like Azure Monitor and Azure Policy.

Module 6 – Introduction to Azure Arc-enabled data services

In this module, you’ll learn the fundamentals of hybrid computing and Azure Arc. You will also learn the basics of Azure Arc-enabled data services including the overall architecture. Then you will learn the capabilities of Azure Arc-enabled SQL Managed Instance and PostgreSQL. In this module, you will:

  • Understand why hybrid computing is an important technology strategy for many users and businesses.
  • Describe what is Azure Arc-enabled data services and why it can be an important part of any hybrid compute and data strategy.
