Overview

This 2-day course is intended to provide you with the knowledge and skills to extend your Intune knowledge further to provide support for organizations with more complex device management needs.

This course can be run as an extra two days immediately after the standard 3 day Intune course (M55399 – Implement and Manage Microsoft Intune).

Audience
Profile

This course is aimed at IT professionals who are responsible for managing devices in organizations based around Entra ID and Intune. Students who attend this course will ideally have attended the 3 day M55399B – Implement and Manage Microsoft Intune course, or have equivalent knowledge.

Outline

Module 1: Onboarding devices

In this module, students learn how to onboard devices to Intune using Autopilot device preparation, hybrid device deployment, and device and identity synchronization using Entra Connect Sync.

Module outline:

  • Implementing Autopilot device preparation policies
  • Onboarding hybrid devices to Intune
  • Synchronizing on-premises devices and identities

Module 2: Configuring devices

In this module, students learn how to configure devices using custom device policies and scripts. They will also learn how to import Group Policy settings, and how to troubleshoot the application of configuration policies.  

Module outline:

  • Migrating Group Policy settings to Intune device configuration policies
  • Implementing platform scripts and custom device configuration profiles
  • Troubleshooting and resolving device configuration issues

Module 3: Deploying apps

In this module, students learn how to deploy complex Win32 apps using the content prep tool. They’ll also discover how to filter the targeting of these apps.

Module outline:

  • Deploying apps using the Win32 content prep tool
  • Understanding dependencies and supersedence
  • Targeting apps with filters

Module 4: Managing security and compliance

In this module, students extend their knowledge of the security capabilities of Entra ID and Intune.

Module outline:

  • Deploying compliance scripts for custom compliance settings
  • Implementing Cloud PKI
  • Implementing just-in-time RBAC roles
  • Implementing LAPS, MFA, and SSPR in Entra/Intune

Module 5: Reporting and troubleshooting

In this module, students learn how to implement Endpoint Analytics and use Intune’s reporting capabilities to monitor and troubleshoot issues.
